Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 22 April 2026

OfferHound is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. This statement applies to offerhound.co.uk and all pages within it.

How accessible is this website?

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We know some parts of our site are not fully accessible yet. We are actively working to improve this.

Features already in place:

  • Skip to main content link at the top of every page (press Tab to reveal it)
  • Semantic HTML5 structure with appropriate landmark regions (nav, main, footer)
  • All images have descriptive alt text
  • All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable
  • FAQ accordions use aria-expanded to communicate state to assistive technology
  • Navigation includes aria-label attributes
  • Forms have explicit <label> elements linked to their inputs
  • Colour contrast ratios meet WCAG AA requirements for normal and large text
  • The site is usable at 200% browser zoom without loss of content or functionality
  • The offer banner and navigation are marked with appropriate ARIA roles

Known limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility gaps and are working to address them:

  • Some decorative SVG icons in the navigation lack aria-hidden="true" on older browser versions
  • The property card carousel on the homepage does not currently announce slide changes to screen readers — we plan to add a live region in a future update
  • Some older blog posts may have images without alt text — we are auditing and correcting these
  • PDFs delivered as property reports are not currently optimised for screen readers; we plan to add tagged PDF support in 2026

Technical specifications

This website is built with HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript. It does not use any frameworks that would introduce accessibility regressions. The site has been tested with:

  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • NVDA screen reader on Windows (Chrome and Edge)
  • VoiceOver on macOS (Safari)
  • Google Chrome's built-in accessibility audit (Lighthouse)
